Okinawa (Kerama representative)
Annual range: 21-28°C. Near the Kuroshio Current mainstream, this region has the most stable temperatures.

- Pros: Year-round wetsuit diving, high visibility, coral abundance
- Cons: Typhoon risk (Aug-Oct), higher travel costs
Pacific Coast (IOP & Kushimoto representative)
Annual range: 15-25°C. Influenced by Kuroshio branches, with temperatures varying year to year based on current meanders.
- Best season: Jul-Oct (22-25°C, 5mm wetsuit)
- Winter season: Dec-Mar (15-19°C, drysuit required but visibility peaks)
- Pros: Easy Tokyo access (Izu is a day trip), enjoy four seasons
- Cons: Drysuit needed in winter, spring plankton blooms reduce visibility
Sea of Japan (Echizen & Omijima representative)
Annual range: 11-27°C. The Tsushima Current brings surprisingly warm summer water with excellent visibility.
