Data policy
The visibility and water-temperature data on this site comes from records that dive shops across Japan published on their own blogs. Since this is other people's work, it should be plain what we publish, what we do not, and what to do if you would rather we did not.
What we publish
- The date of the observation
- Visibility in metres, kept as a range where one was given
- Water temperature in °C, likewise
- The name of the dive site
- The source of the record — the shop's name and a link to their blog
What we do not publish
No blog text, photographs, video, or written impressions are stored or republished. What is extracted is the figures, the date, and the site name — nothing else.
Where an article refers to a shop's blog, it links to it rather than reproducing it.
Attribution
Each site's archive page names the source shop on every individual observation and links to their blog. The full list of sources is on the data sources page.
Removal and correction requests
If you want your data removed, displayed differently, or corrected, we will act on it promptly, and you do not need to explain why. Use the contact form and choose "About Data Sources".
Collection status
Collection has ended. What is published is a static archive of what had been recorded by then. No forecasts are produced.
